The South High Foundation is an independent, volunteer based, 501(c)3 organization active at Minneapolis South High School. The Foundation is seeking new volunteers and board members to help it carry forward its mission of helping South High students. Donations and investments have allowed the foundation to distribute more $220,000 in scholarships and $100,000 in grants this year alone with more than $1M in scholarships since its formation in 1983. Membership includes alumni, friends, parents, and allies from the community.
Mission: To provide financial assistance and support for programs at South High School that directly enhance the students overall high school experience by enriching their academic, cultural and extracurricular experience; and to support and enhance their ability to further their education after high school.

Development Committee
● fundraise and develop resources to sustain the mission
● create a new event that engages community and recent alum
● assist with current special events (i.e. Pancake Breakfast, Alumni luncheons, Golf Tournament)
Scholarship Committee
● review student applications and reward more than $200,000 for post-secondary education
● serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the foundation
Time Commitments & connections
● 1-2 hours per month. More time might be required leading up to an event or year-end application reviews.
● Preference to candidates that have a connection to the South High (alumni, parents, community members, etc.)
